"Lots of Pink" Projects for Practical Scrappers Call

I sooo love pink that my mom had my room painted in pink when I started having my own room when I was still young.  Until now (in my 30s), my room is still in pink. . . . lol

For the Practical Scrappers Call, I chose 1 LO about me and 2 greeting cards I've created to submit.  I'm sharing them with you:

My  8.5 x 11 layout

TITLE: YOU or abbreviated “U”

SUPPLIES:  Paper: All About Scrapbooking, Journaling & Title Tag: All About Scrapbooking, Chipboard embellishments: All About Scrapbooking, Rabbit Embellishment: Hallmark, Other: Assorted Flowers, Butterflies.

JOURNALING:
  • Take it easy.
  • Don’t take life too seriously.
  • Stop worrying too much.
  • Live in the moment.
Butterfly Card - FRONT

Butterfly Card - INSIDE

TITLE: BUTTERFLY CARD

SUPPLIES:
Paper: Hallmark, Glitter Glue: Leeho, Marker: Dong A My Metal Gel Ink, Other: Cardstock, Specialty Papers

DESIGN NOTES:  I made use of a butterfly template (thanks to Colorful Creations) to shape the card into a butterfly.  The template also has butterfly spots marked making it easier to put color on the butterfly card's wings.  I outlined the spots and the butterfly with different colors of glitter glue to add sparkle to the card.  I made use of black paper and metal gel ink for the card's short dedication found inside.  Your card is now ready to fly.

SPA DAY BIRTHDAY CARD

My LO: "Dreaming for a Place in Tagaytay" is one among the featured works at Colorful Creations

For the March Sketch & Color Combo Blog Challenge at Colorful Creation, I submitted my layout entitled: "Dreaming for a Place in Tagaytay".  It's now one of the featured works as of today March 21 until March 25, 2011 by which the challenge ends.  I'd like to share with you a photo of my featured layout:
My entry

Rochelle Spears' Inspiration Sketch at Colorful Creations
Rochelle Spears' color combo inspiration
I made use of a stencil (1 bigger & 1 smaller) for the upper left hand corner lettering, silver metal ink for the journaling on the lower right corner and stamps from All About Scrapbooking for the design on the upper right corner and lower left corner colored squares.

The good news, our family's dream of having a place in Tagaytay will soon be a reality but of a different place than the one featured on my layout.  We exhausted all means in scouring the City for a suitable place for us.  We're near to closing the deal and ending the negotiations.  So do pray for us as we keep our fingers crossed . . . s o o n.

Mardi Gras & St. Patty's Day Projects at Colorful Creations

For the March Madness at Colorful Creations,  I've submitted so far a "Mardi Gras" themed Birthday Card and a couple of tags for Altered Art Category for both Mardi Gras & St. Patrick's Day.  Here they are:
"Mardi Gras" Birthday Card
The above card is for the CC Greetings Emerald Bling Challenge sponsored by One Stop Card Craft.  I've substituted blue for purple and yellow for gold among the colors.  This is for the color combo: gold, green and purple for the Mardi Gras theme.
St. Partick's Day Tag &  Mardi Gras / Fat Tuesday Tag
This is for Evelyn's Altered Art Challenge at Colorful Creations for the continuation of her 2nd half March Madness challenges . . .

Though we don't celebrate the St. Patty's Day, it was fun making the tag.  I think the St. Patty's tag I made is so cute that I decided to put it on a card - a St. Patty's Card for the Random Wednesday - Irish Blessing Challenge at Colorful Creations.  Here is the card - a simple one:

I missed joining in on the fun and the parade in our village for the Fat Tuesday celebration.  Maybe next year . . . Till then!

My Godchildren LO for Colorful Creations & Paper Secrets

I enjoy having only a few godchildren and I want to keep the number that way.  I like updating myself with their works and accomplishments at school thru my "kumares".  And I get to shop for them once a year just for Christmas.  So, I dedicate a page for the 4 godchildren of mine by using PageMaps Sketch. I submitted this to Paper Secrets' Sketch Challenge and to Colorful Creations' "No Challenge" Challenge.  Here is my layout:

SNR March 2011 Issue is out . . .

I'm so glad to have 1 of my layouts published on Scrapbook News & Review March Issue (vol. 4 iss 3).  Though, I was a bit disappointed since out of the 2 confirmed to be published in this issue, only 1 came out. Wondering what could have gone wrong so that I could improve my submissions in the future.

Will be sharing my published work soon. .  . Ooops, I think I've previously blogged about this layout last February when I created it and entered it into a challenge. . . Till then!

Sto Niño Shrine in Leyte LO: Entry to Inspired Blueprints, Colorful Creations, Paper Secrets & ScrapFIT Challenges

Wanting to enter Inspired Blueprints (IB)'s 1st March 2011 Challenge,  the already developed photo of our family taken at Leyte's Sto. Niño Shrine years ago was the 1st photo i thought of as the subject of my LO.  I tied this LO up with Colorful Creations' Monday Mixer - Mix It Up! Challenge wherein you need to have mixed alphas on your page - whether mixed in font or in color.  I also tied it up with Paper Secrets' March "Use your Supplies" Challenge.  And lastly, I'm tying this up to ScrapFIT's Workout #41: Homemade Flowers. Here is my LO and the IB sketch inspiration:
I made use of the pleated paper tutorial found at Colorful Creations for the embellishments on this page.  Patterned papers used on this layout, were all scraps from previous challenges.  I just so love economizing and making use of scraps.

Graduation Theme for An Inspired Blueprints & Colorful Creations Challenge

It's the month of March and what occasion comes to mind in this time of the year for us Philippine residents --  Graduation!!  For an Inspired Blueprints & Colorful Creations' No Challenge,  I remembered my graduation photo with the family way, way back.  Don't ask me . . . I don't want to remember how long I have graduated.  It seemed to be just a few years ago though I don't remember too well the assignments and lectures I've done and listened too in those days.  Now, it seems so long ago. . . . :D

Anyway, I'm sharing with you my Graduation Layout, entitled: "Congratulations" & the IB inspiration sketch:

Ma & I: From Scrapaholics' World Entry fine-tuned for Colorful Creations' Challenge

Looking at my work/entry to Scrapaholics' World, i noticed areas that needed improvement. One cannot go wrong in trying to achieve and aspire more from one's work.  So, I looked and thought.  Then, I introduced the necessary changes.  Since the LO was inspired by a Susan Coish Sketch from the Guest Designer Sketch Series Challenge - Khristen Foss, I entered the improved version of the LO to the said challenge.  Below is the before and after plus the inspiration sketch:
Before - Submitted entry to Scrapaholics' World 1-hr "On the Spot"Competition

After - Submitted entry to Colorful Creations' Challenge

The inspiration sketch from the Colorful Creations' Challenge
Do let me know what you think of the improved version . . . =)

2011 Scrapaholics' World

I gave in and tried my luck in joining All About Scrapbooking's 2011 Scrapaholics' World Competition this March 6, 2010. I entered the "Stamp It!" Category wherein the techniques to be used were stamping and distressing (a one hour competition).  I guess it was better luck next time for I didn't win. :P  But I had fun and I enjoyed my experience. I'm sharing with you the photos taken during the event:
