Colorful Creations 1st Year Anniversary

Hello Everyone!

A Closer View of My "Hot Springs" LO

After the hectic 2 day Online Crop has ended with Colorful Creations,  I'm taking a day or 2 days off to relax from scrapping.  But "gee", I couldn't get away from the computer perusing scrapbook related topics.  One of them is looking at my scrapbook blog links.  And I find the new set of calls from Practical Scrappers.

For this post, I'm allocating this space for the Butterfly Call of Practical Scrappers.  I know I have posted my "Hot Springs" LO previously together with the other Online Crop submitted LOs.  But this time I'm focusing particulary on the said LO.

I fell in love with the huge orange butterfly patch upon seeing it at the store.  And I only found the chance to decorate it on this Spring themed LO.  Though we don't have 4 seasons here in our country, the Spring themed challenge using the word "Spring" as part of the title, urged me to create this page. Projects Using Nikki Sivils Products for Practical Scrappers Call

I've discovered Nikki Sivils Products thru Janis Medina-Maghinay.  She gifted me a pack and when I saw the other Nikki Sivils papers in her stash, I procured them from her.

In so far, I've created 7 layouts using Nikki Sivils products.  4 are wedding LOs, 1 local travel LO, 1 about my former pet, and 1 about meeting a long-time friend. All have been entered into Colorful Creations Challenges this 2011. The first 3 of them shown below are from the "Sugar Cookie" Line.  The next one is using "Will He B the One" Paper.  And the last 3 are from the "Bella Blue and Oscar Too" Collection.  I'm sharing them with you now:

Birthday Layouts for Practical Scrappers Call & A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge

I've recently celebrated my birthday (April 3 to be exact) with my family and a friend on separate occasions.  I wasn't really in the mood to celebrate but their enthusiasm and the chance presented to spend quality time with them to celebrate got me in the mood to do so.  I was able to capture a few photos to document the occasion.  And challenges at Colorful Creations and Paper Secrets presented an opportunity to scrap some of these photos.

With the "Birthday Layout" call of Practical Scrappers & A Spoon Full of Sugar's "Let's Celebrate" Challenge #148 Tuesday weekly challenge dtd April 19, 2011, I'm now sharing these recently created layouts with everyone.  In a  way, it's a chance of extending my birthday celebration to a month-long thing by showcasing the documented event with memories preserved for a lifetime.  Here they are:

JOURNALING: It was a birthday treat for me in advance with a surprise “on the house” birthday dessert of Brazo de Mercedes with cherry in the middle.  Charitess was going back home to CANADA on April 25, 2011 so we scheduled to meet again for a Paella Valenciana --- March 31, 2011 ---

NOTES:  The pink background paper and the pink printed paper were actually Hallmark Non-woven wrapping papers I saved from my friend's gift given to me on that get-together.

NOTES:  A lot are bewildered when my sister and I divulge that we have the same birthday but we aren't twins.  It just so happen that we were born on the same birthday but of different year.  Thus, the 2 of us celebrate our birthday together.

LO & Card entries for Colorful Creations' "Spring Fling" Online Crop (Apr 8-9, '11)

It was a fun and hectic 2 days joining the Colorful Creations online crop held last April 8-9, 2011 at US timezone Central Standard Time.  I was up on early mornings on both days hahaha with finding myself on the 2nd day up and about for 21 hours straight without coffee. lol  Of course from the 21 hours there was a time with the family watching an irresistable show elsewhere from afternoon 'til evening.  It was all fun and worth it!  No regrets over lost sleep. hehehe.

Of course, there was a spill over for about a day with an extended deadline just finishing up the layouts.  There were 10 activities: 7 challenges (including a 1-hour challenge) and 3 make and takes.  This doesn't include the 2 kiddie activities.  Of course, I'm too old to join that but I saw that theirs was also fun and worth doing.  I'd probably do the kiddie make n take on the side in a few days.  Just love their project!

LO entries for March 2011 Colorful Creations Guest Designer Series Challenges

For March 2011, I was able to follow and create 4 LOs for Colorful Creation (CC)s' weekly Guest Designer Challenge.


The 1st week entry (entitled: Ma & I) was a previous entry to a 1 hour challenge fine tuned for CC's challenge (previously posted also on this blog).  The 2nd & 3rd week entries (entitled: Paoay Church & Malacanang of the North respectively) were LOs reminiscent of my trip to the northern part of the Philippines which is Ilocos Norte.  I decided to make way for photos of this trip as part of my LOs.  I wonder if I could  still go back there for rest and recreation {sigh}. . .  Moving on, my 4th week entry (entitled: PDIC's 40th Anniversary) was the 1st LO I made of my days and events at work years back.  I hope I could incorporate more of my photos when I was still working in an LO.  I find trying to make an LO on these too heavy to handle most of the time.  I do hope I'd do lighten up a bit and make more . . .Here are the photos of my LOs:

Good News from SNR . . .

I just re-visited March issue of SNR and found the 2nd confirmed layout that was forgotten to be published finally making it on the magazine.  SNR e-mailed back that it was just an oversight and now they have it posted on their online magazine.  YAY!  It was indeed worth the wait!! It was like a birthday gift.  With me celebrating my birthday yesterday with my family (in Manila timezone).   I'll share the March 2011 published layouts with you soon.  Just sharing the news with everyone. . .  tahh!!
