"Phonebanker" LO published at Practical Scrappers: Layouts using Chipboard

I didn't know that Practical Scrappers was going to have another post on chipboards. After seeing the fantastic submissions on their 1st published post featuring altered chipboards, I was no longer expecting for (1) of my (6) submissions to be published. But, I guess they silently heard my heavy sigh and had another posting. ;-)

Out of my (6) submissions, the "Phonebanker" LO was chosen to be published at Practical Scrappers: Layouts using Chipboard. (Note: Since my LO is currently published at SNR Sept 2011 issue, my layout is temporarily taken down from Practical Scrappers blogpost to give way to the publication terms of SNR magazine.) I have to agree that this layout fits their theme for I made use of laser-cut, raw or naked chipboard by Dusty Attic. I still have to learn how to dress up or alter a chipboard . . . maybe I could start by coloring these raw chipboard but I still have no idea which coloring product to use as they are many to choose from . . . and hopefully within reach of my budget. {sigh} But for the meantime I'm happy with what I have. =)

Thanks Practical Scrapper Erin for the published post!

Yuppie Karikatyur LO published at Ginger ScrapsStreet (GSS) - May 2011

I know I've shared this by sending the GSS article's link featuring my work with friends and relatives via Facebook and e-mail.  You could still view my LO at the GSS archive at this link.

Now is my chance to share my published Yuppie Karikatyur LO here at "Let's Get Scrappy!" with full details:

    TITLE: Yuppie Karikatyur

Supplies: Paper: All About Scrapbooking, Provo Craft & Novelty, Inc., Chipboard: All About Scrapbooking, Alphabet Stickers: All About Scrapbooking, Flowers: All About Scrapbooking Die Cuts: All About Scrapbooking, Tags: All About Scrapbooking, Journaling Spots: KYT Manufacturing & Marketing Corp., Ribbon: All About Scrapbooking, Markers: Artline, Pens: Parker, Sketch: Brenshevia Baker of Colorful Creations, Caricature: Innovatronix, Inc., Other: Butterflies, Specialty Paper, Parchment Board. Tools: Border Punches: Martha Stewart, Decorative Scissors: Soft Canary, Glue Shot: Stanley.

Design Notes: I made use of a sketch by Brenshevia Baker of Colorful Creations as my inspiration. Instead of a regular square as base of the layout, I decided to cut my Provo Craft patterned paper to a scalloped square to make the page fun and cheerful. The sketch used offered no journaling spot. However, I converted the left side of the page and provided for one. I have to agree it was difficult to add a lengthy journaling. I have to check on my emotions while trying to recall what I had experienced in those instances – may they be tight and happy situations. But it sure gave the page character and depth – a glimpse of you and your feelings at those times of your life. One should not be afraid to uncover bits and pieces of oneself on one’s layout.

To view the inspiration sketch follow the link to an earlier blogpost . . . here.
